Hello Summer

So it's taken long enough, and now that it's august it FINALLY truly feels like summer to me. Brett and I are all moved in to the new condo and loving it there (aside from the spiders) Enjoying the fact that we can walk to our two favorite restaraunts. Looking forward to more fun this weekend, along with it being Brett and I's one year anniversary. My cousin and grandma are in town from Washington State and we are trying to entertain them as much as possible! Went to the fair last night which was a blast! I'm not a big rollercoaster person, but I managed to man up and have fun :) Daniel won me a little Lobster in darts. It's orange, but it's a lobster. I might take him to Seaworld today but we'll see! Not ready for a research paper due next week, planning on procrastinating until I have 24 hours left to turn it in. Can't wait to see the adventures that this weekend holds! xoxoxo

My Favorite Costume

My Favorite Costume
By: Taylor Diaz

She dreams that she's not where she is;
She closes her eyes and prays.
to her shes in her paradise,
And in her paradise she'll stay.

But eventually she'll open her eyes
and realize its not true.
She'll fake that smile, throw on her coat
and pretend that the day is new.

She says "This is my favorite costume,
no one can see right through.
No one has to know my pain,
or that I struggle with what to do.
They dont need to see my hurt
and i dont want them to,
but this costume just gets heavier,
and the pain keeps growing too."

Day by day and night by night,
she deals and settles for now.
She wants to leave with no where to go,
home is supposedly "safe and sound."

But safe and sound dont mean a thing,
when the war is under your feet.
The screaming and shouting round and round,
she burrys herself in her sheets.

She says "This is my favorite costume;
No one can see right through.
No one has to know my pain,
or that I struggle with what to do.
They dont need to see my hurt
and i dont want them to,
but this costume just gets heavier,
and the pain keeps growing too."

Sinful Nature

"Every sinner has a future, every Saint has a past."
We're all going somewhere, and we all came from somewhere.

We are all born sinners, we can't run from it. I think the first step towards being happy is excepting the fact that we never will be perfect, and that we are going to make mistakes thoughout our lives. Some people are never happy because they spend all of their time striving for perfection. I used to be on the same road until one day I decided to hit the brakes, and just STOP. There comes a point where just have to tell yourself to relax, and that you're chasing the wind if your trying to be perfect. Yeah, you've messed up- WHO CARES.

"You live and you learn; at any rate you live." -Douglas Adams

People are always going to be judging, people are always going to talk. There will always be a positive and a negative comment to all your actions and statements. Deciding to be you, and sticking by your standards and beliefs is the only way around it. The truth is more people care about themselves and their own image than yours. The only opinion that matters is Gods. On earth, you find that the real people who matter and care about you, love you no matter what. Mistakes, bad days, good days, embarassments, failures.

Even a mistake may turn out to be the one thing necessary to a worthwhile achievement. -Henry Ford

How would we ever get anywhere if we didn't learn from our mistakes? I think our sinful nature sucks, but in a way it's a blessing. Experience is necessary in life. What better way to learn than you own way, even if it is the harder way?

Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. -Dale Carnegie

Accept your mistakes
Learn from regrets
Love your flaws
